Eel bowl in Shinagawa

I like the Unagi (eel) very much.  Today, I visited Marutomi in Shinagawa, Tokyo.  This restaurant is near from Tokyo Hanada Airport.

I walked from Aomono Yokocho station and soon arrived.  It was very small restaurant without air-conditon.

This is double (eel) bowl.  Its sauce is a littel salty rather than sweet, of cause very delicious. 

Gifu

 last week, I traveled to Gifu to watch the fireworks festival.  Gifu is one of the hottest (temperature) places in Japan.  Of couse, it was very very hot day.

The golden Oda Nobunaga, the very famous japanese samurai lord.

The fish-shaped traditional sweets Ayugashi, limited-sold in summer. 

After sim-unlocked Softbank 007z

Last week, I unlocked my Softbank 007z using DC-unlocker, then it could be used with Docomo sim.

But, the connections to Docomo were often disrupted.

My 007z's firmware was BD_MF80V1.0.0B18 although newly BD_MF80V1.0.0B19 firmware had been disclosed.

The firmware update was done.

The connection to Docomo seems to be slightly improved, I feel !?

SD-installed Lubuntu 14.04 on EeePC 4G-X (701)

Asus EeePC is a very funny machine.  I have a EeePC 4G-X (701) and love it.

Originally, it had only 512 Gb ram and on-board 4Gb SSD.  I have upgraded 2Gb memory and attached ZIF socket for 64Gb SATA SSD by DIY-soldering.   However, this mod-EeePC cannot boot from the equipped SATA SSD.  Unfortunetely, the KINGSPEC SATA SSD, which I bought, is fｕcking and makes a internal SSD unrecognized.  To boot Windows7 from SATA SSD, I use Multiple Boot Manager installed on SD card.

This tool is simple but very useful.

This time, I tried to intall linux on SD card and setup a dual booting of Windows7 and Linux because the MBM-installed SD card has much free spaces.

Two-steps dual booting was setup.
A long time was needed to start Lubuntu 14.04 even if I used Transcend UHS-1 SD TS32GSDHC10U1E, reasonable from SANDISK extreme PRO.
In EeePC 4G-X, my impression of using Lubuntu 14.04 installed on SD is in no way inferior to Windows7 on SSD.  Fn keys also work after installation due to EEEPC hotkey driver.

SIM Unlocking Softbank 007z (ZTE mobile hotspot)

The Softbank 007z, the japan custom model of ZTE MF80, is SIM locked model.  This time, I tried to unlock 007z because I had heard it very easy to unlock 007z using DC-unlocker.

The original 007z with NTT Docomo sim shows "SIM Lock".  Then, I executed DC-unlocker on windowsXP.

For correct ZTE modem detection, please plug modem with invalid operator SIM inserted. Wait till software starts the modem, close ZTE software and then you can detect modem with DC-Unlocker.

Very easy!!
After configuration APN setting at 192.168.3.1, my unlocked 007z catched NTT Docomo soon.
However, the connection to Docomo seems to be unstable and sometimes interrupted.

Eel bowl in Kawagoe

Today, I went to Kawagoe, Saitama on business.  For lunch, I visited Pon Poko Tei, where my business partner recommended as the best eel restaurant.  This special bowl of eel and rice was so tasty much.  A sweet but salty sauce aroused my appetite.

Windows7 running on Powermac G5 (experimental) - part 3

Unfortunately, the sound emulation (soundblaster 16) couldn't work on windows7 and VPC 7, although i also tried to install SB16 driver manually.  

Then, I examined if a usb audio device could work.  

When pluged, LED was initially ON and windows started searching its driver.  However, LED was turned off soon and the device couldn't be recognized properly.

Windows7 on VPC for Mac has a problem of USB emulation, too.
